Amor a primera vista / Love at first sight

Quién me conozca, sabe que soy una persona clásica a la hora de vestir; manteniendo una paleta de colores que me identifica y cada tanto dando un shock de color a mi outfit.

Sin embargo, hay algo por lo que tengo debilidad: los accesorios, y mas si son tan lindos como este hermoso carterón que me crucé caminando por mi querido Recoleta.

Pertenece a la tienda Perez Sanz, ubicada en Posadas y Callao. Hasta el día de hoy desconocía esta marca. Se dedican a realizar distintos tipos de objetos, accesorios y esculturas, entre ellos, esta delicia.

Simplemente lo quiero.

Who knows a little bit about me, knows that I’m a classy gal when it comes to clothing; always wearing a palette that identifies me and once in a while wearing a shocking color.

However, I have weakness for accessories; further if they are as beautiful as this lovely bag that I found today walking in my beloved Recoleta neighborhood.

It belongs to Perez Sanz, located in Posadas and Callao. Up today I’ve never heard of this store. They develop different types of objects, accessories and sculptures, among them, this beauty.

I simply want it.

The Girlfriend Jean - because sometimes a guy’s favorite pair of jeans aren’t guy jeans at all.

Todos conocemos la famosa tendencia del ‘boyfriend jean’. 

Bueno, ahora los hombres no pueden estar mas celosos ya que Bonobos – marca dedicada a solucionar un problema muy común entre los hombres, los pantalones que no calzan bien – ha desarrollado el ‘girlfriend jean’.

En el siguiente video van a poder entender la historia detras de este genial desarrollo (??).

Gracias a Dios esto fue tan solo una broma de April’s fool (que sería nuestro equivalente al día de los inocentes, el tema es que allá hasta las marcas se lo toman muy en serio).

Por lo pronto, me parece una genial campaña de la marca para crear awareness y aumentar su popularidad en las redes sociales.

Ya que estamos, si sos hombre, te atreverías a usar los girlfriend jeans?

We all heard about the famous fashion trend called ‘boyfriend jean’ (image above). Ok, now men are no longer allow to be jealous about that, because thanks to Bonobos – a brand dedicated to design jeans for men that actually fit well – has developed the ‘girlfriend jean’.

In the promotional video above you will be able to understand more about the history behind this great product (??).

Thank God this was just an April’s fool joke  (in Argentina is called Innocent’s Day and it is celebrated on December 28^th, also the day of my birthday). The thing is that in the United States, this day is taken more seriously compared to Argentina.

However, this was a great campaign for the brand in order to generate awareness and increase the popularity on their social networks.

By the way, if you are a guy, would you dare to wear the girlfriend jean?

Rumour Has It: MMM for H&M

Ayer era tan solo un rumor, y hoy ya es un hecho. El 15 de Noviembre de 2012 es la fecha elegida para el lanzamiento de una colección de Maison Martin Margiela para H&M. La ya clásica union entre una marca de lujo y una low cost. No veo la hora de que salga a la luz! Y vos?

PRADA

Esta semana se presentó en el Festival de Cannes un film corto de PRADA llamado "A Therapy" dirigido por Roman Polanski, y con la actuación de Helena Bonham Carter  y Ben Kinsgley. Una manera peculiar y hasta diría graciosa de cómo mostrar una marca de lujo. Vale la pena mirarlo!




This week it was introudeced in the Cannes Festival, PRADA's short film called "A Therapy" directed by Roman Polanski, and starring Helena Bonham Carter and Ben Kingsley. A peculiar and I would say, funny way to show a luxuty brand as PRADA is. It's worth watching it!

Que me pongo?! // What should I wear?!

Días difíciles en la ciudad, el verano se extendió y la humedad nos agobia… Pero cuando estamos a la sombra tenemos frío… Somos nosotras o es el clima?? … Conociendome, ambos!

Algunas pecan de seguir usando la ropa de verano, en especial sandalias muy abiertas y hasta ojotas! Quizas sea muy tradicional al respecto, pero yo respeto las estaciones… Y es ahí donde surge la gran duda: ‘que me pongo?’.

Mi recomendación es combinar las siguientes prendas: el must have blazer -si es colorido mejor- o una camisa de jean, unas leggings / pantalon de media estación, remera de manga corta, mocasines / chatitas (o si preferís tacos), y una buena pashmina o pañuelo con onda que cierre el look. No mas, no menos…

Algunos ejemplos de outfits que me encantaron

Tough days in the city, summer is still among us and humidity won’t let us free… But when we are in the shadow, we are cold… Are we the problem or is it the weather? … Knowing me, it’s both!

Some girls and ladies sin because they are still wearing sandals and flip-flops! and other clothes that are mainly for the summer… I may be very traditional, but I like to respect the seasons… So here is when we have that big question: ‘what should I wear?’.

My recommendation is to combine the following clothes: the must-have blazer -if it’s colourful the better- or a jean shirt, mid-season leggings / pants, short-sleve T-shirt, ballerinas / loafers (heels if you prefer so), and a cool pashmina or scarf that ends the outfit. Nothing more, nothing less…

Hello Sunshine!

Recuerdo cuando tenía 13 años y quedamos en encontrarnos en Unicenter con quien hoy es mi mejor amiga. Era nuestra primera ‘cita’ como tales… Y es el día de hoy que nos seguimos acordando de ese momento, y yo se que es gracias a mi piloto amarillo patito de Kill… Sólo risas recibí en su momento, hasta que me di cuenta que no debía usarlo mas… Y hoy en día pienso, porque no lo guardé para un futuro??

Hoy el amarillo es un color que brilla y mucho. Es un must have en el verano que se viene en el hemisferio norte -ya lo viene siendo desde la temporada anterior-, y estoy segura que va a cobrar mucha fuerza en nuestro próximo verano. 

A mi me encanta y en cuanto puedo, opto por una prenda o accesorio en este color. Una de las combinaciones que mas me gusta es la del amarillo flúo con el nude.

Y vos? Tenés guardada alguna prenda de antaño que sacarías del altillo para usarla?

I remember when I was 13 years old and I agreed to meet in Unicenter with whom is today my best friend. It was our first ‘date’ as BFF… And is up to date that we remember that moment, and I’m sure it was thanks to my yellow raincoat… I only got laughs from her until I realized it was time to say goodbye to it… Today I think to myself, why haven’t I kept it for the future?? 

Nowadays yellow brights for itself and a lot. Is a must have of the northern Hemisphere spring/summer collections -it has been since the past summer-, and I’m sure that is going to hit hard here in Argentina in the following season. 

In my case, i love it, and whenever I can, I buy some clothes or an accessorize in this magic colour. One of the combinations that I like most is fluorescent yellow with nude… Delightful!!

Mr Klein

Aún no se respira un clima de calor pero poco a poco se esta yendo el frio.... Y las vidrieras, con sus looks primaverales, ya calientan -y adelantan- lo que se viene en la próxima temporada.

Y uno de los colores que va a pisar fuerte es el azul Klein, y en otras variantes, pero este en particular. Es un color vivo y alegre; caí rendida a sus pies en dos prendas de liquidación que rescaté en Europa. Una pollera de Topshop, con volumen y bolsillos, pero informal, ideal para el verano... Y un blazer de Bershka del cual no veo la hora de volver a ponermelo.

Acá en Buenos Aires, encontré un vestido de Zara que también me cautivo y ya estoy pensando en ir a probármelo. Cuando uno esta bronceado, este color queda muy bien. Con negro, blanco, y colores mas fuertes creando un color block, queda muy bien. Te animás a este color??

You can't breath summer yet, but little by little the cold weather is going away... and shopping windows, with its spring collections, warmth -and anticipate- what is coming.

And one of the colours that is going to be a big hit is blue, specially the one known as Klein. It's a vivid and happy colour; I fall in love in Europe with 2 items in this colour: one skirt from Topshop, vaporous, with pockets but ideal for the summer days... and a blazer from Bershka, which I love and can't wait to wear it again.

Here in Buenos Aires, I found a dress at Zara that I really liked and want to try it on. When you have a summer colour on your skin, Klein blue suits really good. With black, white and stronger colours, creating a colour block, it looks really nice. Do you dare to wear this colour??

Vidrieras // Shop Windows

Me llamaron la atención estas 2 vidrieras que vi, una en Barcelona y otra en Berlin, que son muy similares en sus mannequins. Me resultaron bastante creepies, o soy yo!? La de Barcelona recuerdo que era de la tienda Benetton y la de Berlin la verdad que no lo recuerdo.

Será la manera en que las marcas, a traves de sus vidrieras y mannequins, ven lo que pasa hoy en el mundo con la crisis?? Los de Benetton miran al costado, indiferentes, y los que vi en Berlin directamente ni la quieren ver... No se, pero ambos me llamaron la atención, a ustedes?

Two shop windows called my attention while I was in Barcelona and Berlin. Both mannequins are quiet similar -at least to me! I think that they look creepy!! Those faces are not appealing at all. The one of Barcelona is from Benetton, but I can't really remember the one of Berlin.

Is this the way that brands, through their shop windows and mannequins, see the current world crisis?? The ones from Benetton look to other side, indifferent; and the ones from Berlin, they don't even want to look.... Not sure, what they provoke something on me, what do you think?

Si bien seguimos en invierno atravesando una ola polar, queria aprovechar para darle un poco de brillo a este dia gris, mirando lo que se viene para el proximo verano.

Y lo que se viene es el fluo con todo, botas, aros, chalinas, remeras, zapatillas…. Y muchas cosas mas. Aca les dejo una colorida vidriera de Selfridges en Londres, de mi ultimo paso por dicha ciudad. Colores que quedan muy bien cuando estamos bronceados!

Yo ya me traje mis cositas flúos, vos ya sabes que vas a elegir??

Even though here in Buenos Aires we are still in winter and going through a polar wave, I would like to bright your grey day with colour, and taking a look of what we'll see in the summer.

And the trend is fluorescent colours, in almost everything, boots, earings, t-shirts, pashminas, trainers.... and many more. Here you can see the shop window from Selfridges London, from my last trip to that city. Be aware that these colours look better when one is tanned!
